Shooting on Location: Turning Environments into Characters

Locations aren’t just backdrops — they’re characters. A decaying building, a misty forest, a sunlit rooftop: each adds tone and symbolism.
When scouting, I look for places that support the emotional tone of the shoot.
Contrast between model and space is often compelling.
Sometimes the location leads the story. Sometimes it simply supports it. Either way, the setting should speak.
